Parent Involvement

Parent involvement is vital to children’s success in school. Jollipoli Preschool strives to involve parents in as many ways as possible, so that families can build the foundation for academic and lifelong success together. Parents are invited to spend time in the classroom, whether it’s volunteering during special events or reading a story to the children.

Jollipoli has other ways for parents to be involved and explore learning at Jollipoli Preschool, including:

  • An annual open house and classroom orientation to ensure parents and children start school prepared and worry free.
  • Parents are kept informed of their child’s progress and development through quarterly progress reports and Ages & Stages developmental screenings.
  • Monthly calendars, newsletters, lunch menus and other important information is sent via email and posted in your child’s classroom information board.
  • Families are encouraged to share stories, songs and lessons about their culture which are used throughout the year.
  • Parents are encouraged to volunteer in the classroom; other opportunities to get involved include planning events, preparing projects, and participating in school and charitable events.

CONFERENCES & FEEDBACK

Parent-teacher conferences are held twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. We also ask parents to participate in two parent surveys each year to obtain valuable feedback about the success and accessibility of the program.
